Winter Training

Winter training during the holidays can be difficult: the food, traveling, late nights, little sunlight, and busy-ness require special focus on what's important. Creating reminders why I train and what my goals are will enable me to get over all of these hurdles successfully.

I spent a great weekend with the guys in Michigan which involved pretty much everything that hurts training--no sleep, alcohol, bad food and no actual training. Oh well, it's important to do everything in moderation, including training.

I'm back to it, increasing my mileage, working on pushing my "stomach threshold" during runs and getting some time on the bike.

Day One

First day back, 3.54 miles in 29:59 through Fisherman's Warf.
Just getting my legs back, nothing too hard.

Found a great website: runkeeper.com allows you to track your pace and map through your iphone, then uploads all the stats to the website. Pretty cool. I'll use that website to log my running and cycling miles. Iphone doesn't work well in the water, so I'll use traditional tracking methods there.

Way Too Long

Well, I can't say I'm proud of this: it's been two years since I have posted. No excuses. But that's not to say that I haven't trained and completed a number of triathlons.
